Restoration and conservation of antique furniture, picture and mirror frames, objets d'art,wooden sculptures, fireplaces, marble, wood panelling, staircases and floors. Specialities: all wooden sculptures and artefactsi Gilding, French polishing and finishesi marble inlay and marquetry. All restoration work can be carried out in situ thus avoiding unnecessary upheavals.
It is fifteen years since Luigi Maria Villani completed his apprenticeship under a Master Restorer in Rome and he has now developed his own techniques on practical repairs and finishes. Luigi's opinion is valued on selected restoration and conservation projects and he is renowned for his meticulous restoration work.
In Rome he carried out restoration work for the Church and the US Embassy and in Scotland for the National Trust for Scotland, Cawdor. Castle and many other historic houses.
After evaluation, he provides a report offering a plan of action based on the client's individuaI requirements. This details the present condition of the subject and makes recommendations for its future preservation.
Luigi Villani is not only a master restorer. Re also lectures throughout the country and abroad and teaches his rare skiUs in master classes which afe held in the comfort of a client's premises.
